Reigate’s rhapsody in blue as two go through

Post-match R&R for the nine one-ball contestants, plus organiser Caroline Barnard

Nine players dressed in blue took to the lawn on Sunday 27th April for the Reigate heat of the national Charity One Ball competition. Blue is the colour of the Alzheimer’s Society which was the nominated charity this year. We raised a very impressive £146 from the entry fees, donations and sales of cake, which entitles two Reigate players to enter the national finals at Surbiton on 17th May.

The competition was fierce, with three games happening simultaneously on the lawn, but in the end Michael Bye, with his impressive hit-ins and long hoop runs, was victorious in all his games and was the winner of the day. Claire Brugger was the worthy runner up. Many thanks to all who took part and made the day so successful.
