Play & Picnic at Polesden

By - 22nd October 2017

During the lawn Autumn closure on a bright September morning, about a dozen club members croqueted away the day on the four lawns at National Trust Polseden Lacey.

It was also Heritage Open Day, so there was a steady stream of on-lookers passing by getting in for free. The lawns are noticeably smaller than at the club, but in very attractive surroundings. Several U3A croquet groups had been invited to join us, but in the end only one or two turned up. All seemed to enjoy the day including several onlookers invited to have a go. Both AC and GC games were played – “Let’s do it again next year!” seemed to be the general view.
