By - 04th December 2022

At the AGM on Sunday 20th November 2022, Chairman John Bristow outlined a full programme of events and items planned to celebrate the club’s Centenary year 2023.

Some 6 events are proposed :

  • a dawn to dusk continuous croquet day in the week the club was formed
  • a new Centenary Plate competition likely to be GC 19-point GC
  • a lunchtime barbecue with demonstration games from world class players
  • a joint event with the bowls club that played on our lawn in the early 1900s
  • a Centenary dinner with external guests
  • a version of the 2022 Platinum Jubilee lunch with croquet to 1923 rules

Items to celebrate the Centenary include:

  • a Centenary Plate as the Trophy for the new competition
  • a Centenary Rose planted near corner 4
  • a range of Centenary mugs
  • a revamped Logo for the mugs and plate

Members were shown a few possible designs for the logo, and asked to come up with their own design ideas during January. Also, the Chairman hoped that it would be possible with their full cooperation to gather all members together
to produce a photograph of the whole club at some point in the Centenary year.
