None of the team had visited the Ember lawn before our match on June 16, and it turned out to be a very pleasant venue with good facilities shared with a tennis and bowls club. Played on 31 May, this was Reigate’s first match of the new S League and the first competitive match held on our lawn for some time. We should have benefitted from home advantage but we picked Cheam as our opponents so some of their team were very familiar with our lawn.
