S League v Cheam

Played on 31 May, this was Reigate’s first match of the new S League and the first competitive match held on our lawn for some time. We should have benefitted from home advantage but we picked Cheam as our opponents so some of their team were very familiar with our lawn.  That is the excuse for being beaten by three games… Read more →

Golf Friendly v Woking

The initial doubles games began in difficult drizzly windy conditions. Both our couples struggled against low handicappers, two of whom were not best pleased to arrive late after google maps had directed them to the Hon Sec’s house in Merstham! Both games were lost 3-7. As the weather gradually improved so did our play, clearly showing the benefit of the… Read more →

Handicap Golf v Ivychurch

After some patchy, but close games in the morning, RPCC were 3-0 down, which wasn’t much of a surprise when looking at the two sides on paper, but regained a lot of pride in the afternoon. Dominic Nunns quickly despatched… Read more →

Speed Doubles

The first Saturday in June saw a dozen players in whites, most anyway, rushing about the lawn; they were playing Speed Doubles. The game is Association alternate-stroke doubles, played on half lawns to a tight total time limit of ten minutes play per side, meaning that the games are short and there is no hanging about. Players were grouped into… Read more →
